Proficiency Level Descriptors
An articulation of student language performance across six levels of English language proficiency. PLDs represent three dimensions of language use: discourse, sentence, and word/phrase.
These lessons support beginning levels of language proficiency as well as expand and extend language use for more advanced language proficiency levels.
All levels of language proficiency are asked to engage with the same grade-level content standard topics and expectations.
