Introducing ELD Techniques to Mainstream Teachers (Grades K-12)
Students with limited proficiency face a very difficult task: they have to acquire grade-level content, and simultaneously, they have to develop fluency and proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading, writing, and thinking).  Mainstream classroom teachers must modify the classroom environment, their speech, and their entire instructional delivery system in order to make input comprehensible for their students, and at the same time assist them in expending their language skills. This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the ELD techniques for teachers who work with ELL students in their mainstream classrooms. Special topics include vocabulary development and oral language interaction. Click the links below to register.
